U2 (With Florence & Machine), a set on Flickr.

I never thought that I was going to see U2 and Florence & The Machine right in my own backyard in Nashville TN. But I did recently at Vanderbilt University.

I’m sure later on this week that it will hit me that I saw a terrific artist that could kick Lady Gaga’s butt all over the place and a legendary rock band that I remember when I was in high school were just starting out…….right in my own hometown.

Hockey fans in Nashville are still buzzing over a late comeback by the Predators on Sunday, led by none other than a rookie from Brentwood, Tennessee! Just when it looked like the Buffalo Sabres had things wrapped up with a 3-1 lead going into the final minutes of the game, Blake Geoffrion scored, then scored again, completing a hat trick in just his 11th game in the NHL. Long-time Preds fan favorite, Martin Erat, scored the game-winning goal in overtime, completing what some are calling the “Music City Miracle II.” Let’s hope the Predators can continue their winning ways as they battle for a spot in the playoffs.

Heading to Predators/Red Wings game tonight. And in the back of my mind, I remember the last game Nashville scored against Detroit with a score of 8-0.

In Nashville Tennessee, you never know what’s going to happen. You might see a celebrity in a place where you least expected. Case in point, I was at the Nashville Predators/Detroit Red Wings NHL hockey game. And not only one music star performed on stage….how about two?

Well, it happened….In this photo, Rock legend Alice Cooper jammed onstage with country star Vince Gill.

The NHL and Stan Lee have teamed up to create “NHL Guardians”. This series will make it’s debut on Versus broadcast of the 2011 NHL All Star Game Weekend.

They’ve been revealing the “Characters” one by one from the series this week. Here’s one that represents my favorite team………”Nashville Predator”. He’s so badass! :)

Yes…….I’m not ashamed of it. I still enjoy his music to this very day. Honestly, his newer stuff is so much better than what he used to sing in the 1980’s.

Hope he comes to America for a tour in the future. I would buy a ticket if he makes Nashville Tennessee one of his stops.

(Amy’s Comment: I deal with depression from time to time and the holiday’s are sometimes the worst period for me having it. I’m rebloging this article from Rob Delaney because I hope this will shatter the “Stigma” about people dealing with depression. Yea…this describes how I feel about Christmas these days. Besides being the time of year when we’re “pressured” to buy a gift but in the back of our minds, we still got bills to pay and being a “battleground” for politics, religions, and society telling us how to celebrate it, Christmas is not my favorite time of the year for two things:

1. 10 days before Christmas in 2001, I did receive a gift all right from my (ex) husband…..a divorce. My parents and friends don’t understand it but it’s hard to be “Holidayish” when all it does for me is that it stirs up bad memories of when my ex called me out of work early and said that he wanted a divorce. And since I turned 40 this year, that memory is stronger than ever. Oh, I’ve gotten over him and moved on since then but it’s going to take me a very long time to get over this experience. When? Who knows?

2. My temp job at Vanderbilt is ending in a few days (December 31st) and yesterday afternoon after work, I was crying my eyes out. It’s because I didn’t wanted it to end and also, I’m scared right now. Not to menchion very worried if I’m going to have another temp job in the new year or go back to being unemployed again (which I don’t want to go back and collect unemployment checks at all).

So yea…Christmas can take a flying cliff and jump off. Lately, the Holiday Season has been nothing but bad luck in my world…..and I wish I just do not celebrate it.

In general……Thank you “Monty Python” for describe a perfect picture of how I’m feeling about Christmas and the Holidays (Warning: Not Kid And Family Friendly).

Spiderman The Musical?? What a joke! Yes, I’ve heard about this broadway musical about Spiderman costing over a million dollars, had Bono writing the score…….and also pitfalls like one of the actors got injured during the performance and had to bring in an understudy.

To me, the musical would have been more entertaining if it was done this way…..like it was featured this week on Conan.
